I was filleting these lingcod yesterday and had two really fun interactions with our neighbors. I hollered over the fence to one neighbor and the conversation went something like this:
Me: you want some fresh fish?
Neighbor: We’re good but thanks (momentary pause) what you got?
Me: lingcod
Neighbor: (peering over fence at ling on my tailgate) yeah, we’ll take some.

Me to other Neighbor a little later on: here’s some fresh fish for y’all, is this enough?
Other Neighbor: (dead straight expression looking into my eyes) no, we like it a LOT. (He’ll be getting more this morning)

we LOVE sharing what we catch, it’s such a big part of the whole process and probably almost as much fun as the catching of the fish! (Almost)
